Position Overview

Job Responsibilities


35% Under administrative direction, performs complex professional and advisory functions as the ServiceNow Business Analyst for the IL Department of Innovation and Technology:
Identifies, evaluates and ensures a clear understanding of the needs of multiple principal stakeholders.

  • Translates needs into a detailed technical business requirement document. 
  • Conveys business requirements and design concepts with models such as gap analysis, use cases, prototypes, etc. 
  • Creates, refines and maintains functional requirements, user stories, use cases and associated deliverables such as process flows, test cases, etc., to meet ServiceNow development and stakeholder needs. 
  • Conducts requirements gathering sessions.
  • Documents user cases and converts them into relevant user stories.
  • Provides project management support using approved project management processes, tools and contribute to a collaborative team. 
  • Works as Scrum Master for Agile Releases. 
  • Designs Sprints and Releases

 

30% Performs complex professional and advisory functions as the ServiceNow Trainer for the IL Department of Innovation and Technology:

  • Trains the platform team and organization on how to use the platform for best employee experience. 
  • Coordinates internal/external training activities, including the training plan and training execution. 
  • Creates and maintains training materials/programs and related activities.
  •  Delivers training content (across multiple product lines) at a variety of levels to different audiences via classroom (public, onsite), virtual classroom, and recorded formats. 
  • Contributes and assists in development of effective and sustainable training courseware and curriculum. 
  • Formulates strategies and metrics to effectively measure curriculum effectiveness and program development. 
  • Liaises with subject matter experts.
  • Leads or participates in workshops related to learning and development. 
  • Develops and nurtures a collaborative, high performance, accountable, focused and innovative learning culture.
  • Travels to attend, participate and/or deliver training.

15% Serves as a project coordinator for large scale requests:

  • Performs project coordinator duties including request review, project documentation, project planning, assigning work tasks, monitoring complex and time-sensitive schedules, tracking testing reviews and planning and coordinating all training for unit staff.  
  • Monitors and reviews daily schedules to ensure jobs are completed accurately and on time. 
  • Utilizes Visual Task Boards/Kanban and Organization Change Management in performance of duties.
  • Develops Power Point presentations for project Kick off meetings. 
  • Provides status reports to manager as directed.

 

15% Keeps abreast of innovation and advancements on the ServiceNow Platform and the IT field:

  • Continues education by attending meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and maintain current on the ServiceNow Platform, IT products, vendors, techniques, and procedures applicable to unit activities. 
  • Travels to attend meetings, trainings, and conferences. 

 

5% Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

1.    Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
2.    Requires three (3) years of professional experience in a related Information Technology field.
 

Specialized Skills

1.    Requires three (3) years professional experience working as a Business Analyst on Information Technology Projects.
2.    Requires three (3) years of professional experience working in a ServiceNow environment utilizing multiple ServiceNow product suites.
3.    Requires three (3) years professional experience serving as an Information Technology related Trainer.
4.    Requires three (3) years professional experience converting use cases into relevant user stories.
5.    Requires three (3) years of professional experience in conducting Organization Change Management

Preferred Qualifications (In Order of Significance)

1.    Requires three (3) years professional experience working as a Business Analyst on Information Technology Projects.
2.    Requires three (3) years of professional experience working in a ServiceNow environment utilizing multiple ServiceNow product suites.
3.    Requires three (3) years professional experience serving as an Information Technology related Trainer.
