Position Overview:
This position is accountable for assisting the Regional Information Technology Manager, Central Office, Bureau of Information Processing (BIP) section and unit managers with day-to-day operational duties. The incumbent is responsible for supporting a robust portfolio of Information Technology (IT) applications, performing approved software installations, troubleshooting software and hardware related information technology (IT) issues, supporting users in a network environment, troubleshooting IT needs for executive staff, networking with district IT staff located throughout the state, and assisting with lifecycle replacement for all IT assets. The incumbent is also responsible for utilizing the ServiceNow (SNOW) system for inventory management and submittal of service requests and/or incident tickets. The incumbent serves as the liaison between department IT staff and Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) staff and supports agency staff in compliance with DoIT requirements and the Chief Information Officer’s (CIO) strategic plan.
Essential Functions
- Assists the Regional Information Technology Manager (RITM), Central Office, Bureau of Information
Processing (BIP) section and unit managers with day-to-day operational duties. - Assists with supporting a robust portfolio of Information Technology (IT) applications, troubleshooting
IT issues, and providing hardware and software support to technology users in a network environment. - Assists with coordination of IT initiatives with district IT staff throughout the department.
- Assists with lifecycle replacement for all IT assets, multi-functional printer issues, and IT inventory
management. - Works with each of the department bureaus to monitor IT permissions and security.
- Provides basic smartphone, PC, laptop, and tablet upgrades and/or configuration services.
- Resolves IT support requests and submits ServiceNow (SNOW) tickets when applicable.
- Serves as a liaison between the department and DoIT staff.
- Performs all duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties in a manner
conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees. - Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree majoring in computer science or information technology OR Completion of two years of college PLUS two years of experience working with network operating systems, end-user computer support, application support, IT troubleshooting, or a combination thereof OR six years of experience working with network operating systems, end-user computer support, application support, IT troubleshooting, or a combination thereof.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience writing and utilizing Windows Batch Script and Powershell to automate tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Basic knowledge of PMI, ITIL, and/or Agile methodologies.
- Proficient with various network operating environments and communication protocols.
- Working knowledge of concepts and techniques to effectively manage people, tasks, and programs.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute administrative and technical program requirements.
- Ability to maintain harmonious relationships with employees, agency officials, and the public.
- Good organizational and documentation skills.
