This position serves as the Information Systems Auditor-in-Charge conducting Information Technology audits. Essential Functions

  • Under general direction, serves as the Information Systems Auditor-in-Charge for the Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT).

  • Assigns audit segments to team members and explains the assignment’s relationship to the overall audit objectives.

  • Provides input to the Chief Internal Auditor in the preparation of audit procedures, development of the annual audit plan, and audit manuals and policies used by division staff.

  • Continues education through formal and in-house training.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree with course work in auditing, business management, public administration, economics, accounting, management information systems or related subjects
  • Requires three (3) years of professional Information Technology (IT) auditing experience.
  • Requires certification as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four (4) years of professional experience in auditing information systems in an information systems environment relating to system applications, system security, or mainframes.
  • Four (4) years of professional experience conducting tests of new systems and modifications to systems to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the data in accordance with various standards.
  • Four (4) years professional experience drafting final audit findings, developing audit reports, and submitting final audit findings.
  • Three (3) years of experience preparing for and conducting entrance conferences to outline audits with agency personnel.
  • Two (2) years of experience utilizing automated audit software applications/programs and accounting software programs including Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP).
  • Certified Internal Auditor Certificate (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant Certificate (CPA)
  • Ability to analyze major systems to conduct for audit purposes. 
  • Ability to coordinate the activities of work associates to achieve desired results
  • Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with agency officials, associates, vendors, clients and others.
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.
