Position Overview

Under direction, performs specialized office support functions; receives, reviews and evaluates licensing applications for the Real Estate Licensing Program under the jurisdiction of the Division of Real Estate (DRE) and provides information or assistance to applicants, licensees, associations, state licensing boards and the general public.  Utilizes several computer applications relative to the program.  Receives and participates in training.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Receives and independently evaluates complex licensing applications and supporting documents for the Real Estate Licensing Program data.
  • Utilizes several computer applications relative to the program; i.e., the Department’s data base system and ILES (Integrated Licensure and Enforcement System).
  • Utilizes a personal computer and other related equipment; utilizes software applications, e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, databases. 

  • Applies general knowledge of agency operations, rules and regulations in explaining or clarifying rules, processes, procedures and services available to applicants, licensees, associations, state licensing boards and the public.

  • Prepares application maintenance forms to ensure automated processing of application data is correct.

  • Receives and participates in training to assure continuity in the licensing process.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Requires extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures and programs.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of basic mathematics.
  • Requires working knowledge of the logic of computer programs.
  • Requires ability to follow oral or written instructions.
  • Requires ability to operate commonly used manual and automated office equipment and perform routine maintenance.

Employment Conditions

  • Requires the ability to type accurately at 30 wpm.
  • Requires the ability to pass an agency conducted background check.

 

Education Degree

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college, or completion of high school and two years of related office experience, or two years of independent business experience.
