Position Overview: 

 

The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Child Support Services is seeking to hire a highly qualified and motivated professional to join our Collection and Asset Recovery Unit (CARU) in the role of Office Coordinator. This position will complete and issue lawsuit liens to financial institutions, recorder’s offices, non-custodial parents (NCPs), attorneys, insurance companies, employers, and other payers of lump sum payments after verifying that the conditions of service have been met. Additionally, this position will respond to telephone inquiries relating to lawsuit liens.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills to be successful in evaluating the operations of the CARU Lawsuit Liens unit, while maintaining working relationships with other governmental professional organizations

Essential Functions

  • Under direction, performs complex and specialized procedures to achieve the service of lawsuit liens notices
  • Reviews and analyzes accounts through the comparison of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) computer records, State Disbursement Unit (SDU) payment records, and Clerk of the Court payment records to determine correct delinquency amount
  • Gathers information and issues lawsuit lien notices to responsible relatives whose accounts meet established delinquency guidelines
  • Responds to telephone inquiries relating to lawsuit liens
  • Establishes and monitors tracking procedures to monitor status of liens and other work in progress
  • Keyboards letters forms records and other documents relative to liens
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business college, or completion of high school and two (2) years of related office experience, or two (2) years of independent business experience.
  • Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 30 words per minute.
