Job Description:
The Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS)’s, Division of Managed Care is seeking a dynamic and detail oriented individual to oversee the performance of managed care organizations. This position will independently conduct complex duties in performance management including monitoring contract performance, measuring performance and supporting managed care risk management and mitigation of managed care plans. Additionally, the position will participate in contract monitoring audits, provide technical assistance to staff involved in the contract monitoring research and assist in developing policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate for this position is an enthusiastic, career-minded, self-motivated individual with a proven record of professionalism and success in fast-paced environments. Additionally, the candidate will possess strong, effective verbal and written communication skills as the candidate will organize and lead meetings with Managed Care Organizations to exchange information. Public speaking skills coupled with dynamic leadership skills are imperative to be successful within this position.

Job Responsibilities
- Independently conducts complex duties in performance management including monitoring contract performance, measuring performance and supporting managed care risk management and mitigation of managed care plans
- Writes and reviews complex reports on the results of MCO contract monitoring audits and evaluations involving issues with the program
- Organizes and leads weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings with the MCOs to exchange information regarding contract compliance, MCO Performance Reporting (MPR) reports and areas of opportunities for improvement for MCOs and the department
- Provides technical assistance to staff involved in the contract monitoring research
- Serves as liaison with Agency and outside Agency staff and managers as well as other state and federal agencies
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, supplemented by a master's degree in business or public administration, with coursework in areas such as economic theory, accounting and finance, organizational theory, and operations research
- Requires three years progressively responsible professional experience in management operations analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of account management experience
- Two (2) years of professional experience conducting performance management operations for managed care plans
- Two (2) years of experience in the healthcare industry field
- Extensive knowledge of Managed Care concepts and operations
- Two (2) years of experience ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines relating to managed care plans
- Two (2) years of experience developing policies and procedures for a managed care plan initiative
- Basic Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
