Job Responsibilities

Under immediate supervision. for a period of time from six and not to exceed twelve months, receives instruction and training and performs beginning level duties in the care and habilitation/treatment of patients who are mentally ill at the McFarland Mental Health Center. Actively participates in classroom and on-the- job training classes. Receives training in the Interdisciplinary Team Process.  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school. Requires ability to develop skills necessary to provide basic personal and nursing care services and to participate in programs of care, treatment and habilitation. Requires ability to participate in and successfully complete a comprehensive training program. Requires ability to provide the sincere interest necessary to work effectively with patients with mental illness.  

 

 

 

Education Degree

 

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.

 

Physical Requirements

 

Requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. 

Work Hours:  Various Units, Shifts and Days Off  

Mental Health Technician Trainee: Work schedule will be based on operational needs and determined upon completion of on the job training (OJT).

8:00 am - 4:00 pm

4:00 pm - 12:00 am

12:00 am - 8:00 am
