Essential Function

 

  • Under general direction, serves as a Mid-Level Equipment Support Technician for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), supporting Healthcare and Family Services (HFS)
  • Processes requests for Systems Applications & Products/Electronic Data Processing (SAP/EDP) equipment actions
  • Consults with various bureaus and users regarding the technically intermediate level of hardware appropriate to the applications required and the programs needed for optimum effectiveness of selected hardware
  • Performs extensive maintenance of teleprocessing systems of intermediate complexity supplied by vendors
  • Serves as liaison with vendors for software and hardware solutions
  • Attends training classes, seminars, meetings, and conferences to gain knowledge in the areas of licensing, technology compliance, and long-term technology planning
  • Updates documentation of serial numbers, property tag numbers, and location of all teleprocessing equipment
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above

Specialized Skills

  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience working with Systems Applications & Products/Electronic Data Processing (SAP/EDP) systems
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience using personal computers and standard integrated software packages and related software

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in a related Information Technology field

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of professional experience working with Systems Applications & Products/Electronic Data Processing (SAP/EDP) systems
  • One (1) year of experience using personal computers and standard integrated software packages and related software
  • One (1) year of professional experience working with asset/inventory management
  • Two (2) years of experience communicating highly technical information clearly and concisely
  • Two (2) years of experience maintaining satisfactory professional relationships
