Position Overview
Serves as Manager of DHS Multi-Media Communications. Plans, directs, organizes, and evaluates production of audio, video, photography, presentations, and event materials. Serves as technical assistant and primary technical resource to IDHS staff and as confidential assistant to the IDHS Secretary, Chief of Staff, Legislative Director, and Communications Director in the ways in which the multimedia center can be used to enhance the experience for IDHS employees and/or clients. Sets up equipment, films, photographs, records audio, and incorporates graphics and captioning. Designs, develops, and manages system for cataloging and storing digital library of video, audio, photography, electronic material, and other graphics.
Essential Functions
- Serves as Manager of DHS Multi-Media Communications.
- Serves as technical assistant and primary technical resource to IDHS staff and as confidential assistant to the IDHS Secretary, Chief of Staff, Legislative Director, and Communications Director in the ways in which the multimedia center can be used to enhance the experience for IDHS employees and/or clients.
- Sets up equipment, films, photographs, records audio, and incorporates graphics and captioning.
- Designs, develops, and manages system for cataloging and storing digital library of video, audio, photography, electronic material, and other graphics.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college.
- Requires three (3) years progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or private organization.
Specialized Skills
- Of the three (3) years of professional experience, requires three (3) years of experience in a public or private agency focusing on multimedia design and creation, and communications and marketing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three (3) years of experience in a public or private agency focusing on multimedia design and creation, and communications and marketing.
- Three (3) years of professional experience in advertising, marketing, public relations, media affairs, branding, and/or social media outlets for a public or private organization.
- Three (3) years of experience in art/design, video, or graphic production for a public or private organization.
- Three (3) years of experience working with Publisher, Adobe Acrobat Professional, CS5, Print Shop, web postings, One Net, Microsoft Office Suite programs (such as Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and AP editing style software for a public or private organization.
- Three (3) years of experience working with appropriate software to effectively create graphic arts products such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or other comparable graphic and video production software tools.
- Three (3) years of professional experience in professional photography, and videography.
Work Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday - Friday; 1 hour unpaid lunch
