Position Overview:
The Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Academy and Training is seeking a detail‑oriented and service‑focused Office Assistant to join our team. The Office Assistant provides essential administrative support to the Illinois State Police Academy by performing clerical duties, offering information to staff and visitors, and coordinating guest access to the facility. This role assists the Academy Fleet Coordinator with organizing, coordinating, and reconciling fleet expense records and serves as a key liaison for Academy personnel. The Office Assistant also supports property control functions, performs data entry and complex typing tasks, and manages all incoming mail and packages to ensure efficient daily operations. Essential Functions
- Performs clerical duties and provides information to a variety of parties.
- Performs duties associated with access for guests to the facility.
- Assists the Academy Fleet Coordinator by organizing, coordinating, and reconciling all
- Academy fleet expense records.
- Serves as the liaison for staff and personnel.
- Assists the Property Manager and Custodian with the Academy Property Control.
- Performs data entry and complex typing duties.
- Receives and processes all incoming Academy mail and packages.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school and one year of related office experience.
- Requires the ability to type at 35 words per minute.
Conditions of Employment
- Successfully complete an Illinois State Police Background Investigation.
- Successfully complete an Illinois State Police Drug Screen.
- Requires a valid driver’s license.
