Position Statement
Under direction, performs complex issuance specialized clerical and analytical, interpretive and informational duties involved in the issuance of various license and permits for deer and turkey; sells hunting and fishing licenses and various stamps at the Public Services Area and records transactions through the cash register.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides information, rules, regulations, policy and procedures to clientele via phone/Public Service Area that is pertinent to the various license and permit programs referenced above; independently applied IL Statues Chapter 520, Act 5, Wildlife Code and Chapter 515, Act 5, Fish and Aquatic Life Code, IL Administrative Rules Part 710, Part 650, Part 660, Part 670, Part 680, Part 715, Part 720, Part 2520 and Part 830, regulations, Department policy and procedures analyzing applications for deer and turkey, boat and snowmobile programs; records transactions in the Public Service Area through the cash register.
- Performs analytical and interpretive work such as analyzing eligibility, residency, and proof of landownership on the acceptable forms, proof of tenancy on the acceptable forms, corporation permission to hunt and trust agreements for land held in trust.
- Analyzes applicant's permit information to ensure all documents, i.e. ownership of property, are present and complete and proper submittal of required monies are enclosed; analyzes application permit information on the deer, turkey, boat and snowmobile database using a CRT and IRW Image Retrieval Work Station.
- Verifies deer and turkey computerized permit records with hard copy applications to ensure accuracy of data; prepares appropriate documents for corrections or errors and submits to the data entry staff.
- Prepares permits and applications for mailing to the public.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two years of office experience.
- Requires skill in keyboarding accurately at 45 wpm.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures, and programs.
- Extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Working knowledge of basic mathematics.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Prefers experience with data entry skills.
Agency Statement
The Office of Oil and Gas Resource Management (OOGRM) is the regulatory authority in Illinois for permitting, drilling, operating, and plugging oil and gas production wells. The Office implements the Illinois Oil and Gas Act and enforces standards for the construction and operation of related production equipment and facilities. In addition, the Office regulates the injection of fluids into underground injection wells, through the UIC Program, and cleans up abandoned well sites through the PRF and Landowner Grant Programs.
