Position Overview:
This position provides high‑level administrative and clerical support to the Director and professional staff. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals, including those who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Essential Functions
- Serves as Secretary to the Director and professional staff.
- Reviews invoices for BEI Raters, Interpreters, Commissioners, and Licensure Board invoices.
- Performs a variety of complex, specialized clerical support functions.
- Serves as receptionist in the agency’s executive office.
- Identifies needs for office supplies.
- Through sign language, communicates with those who are deaf and hard of hearing and others. Including clients, government officials, staff, and others.
- Performs other duties as required and assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two years of office experience.
- Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 35 words per minute.
- In addition to having a written and spoken knowledge of the English language, candidates are required to sign American Sign Language at a colloquial skill level in carrying out position duties in conjunction with non-English speaking individuals.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires a valid drivers license and the ability to travel, including overnight stays.
- Requires the ability to work outside normal hours as operational needs require.
