Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is looking to hire an Office Associate.  This position will answer multi-line phone and walk-in inquires, provide specialized office support and give information of a non-technical nature concerning departmental procedures, rules and regulations, type a variety of correspondence and reports, and edit and review material for accuracy. Essential Functions

  • Under direction, serves as Receptionist for the Agency, associated with professional staff in the operation and maintenance of duties.
  • Operates personal computer and software.
  • Assist the Office Administrator with desk operations.
  • Assist the Office Administrator in gathering visitor and caller data reports.
  • Monitors and tracks agency conference room scheduling.
  • Inputs and updates data for records.
  • Receives incoming mail for the Agency.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two years of office experience
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 45 wpm

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of working experience answering a multi-line phone system.
  • One (1) year of working experience using Microsoft Office or a similar system.
  • One (1) year of working experience entering data accurately.

OSS provides fleet management and administrative services for IDNR properties in districts spread throughout the state of Illinois.
