Position Overview

Under direction, formats and keyboards a variety of difficult letters and memoranda drafted in response to inquiries from clients, attorneys, Local Offices, legislators, and other agency staff regarding recoupment and recovery activities for overpayment accounts. Establishes, enters, updates, and maintains files on the personal computer to track all correspondence, Overpayment Changes/Adjustment forms, phone calls, and reports received in the Account Maintenance Unit. Reviews, evaluates, sorts, and classifies all incoming correspondence. Reviews and controls daily and special reports received from the Comptroller Offset System and the Department’s mainframe pertaining to the establishment and adjustment of overpayment accounts. Answers telephone calls, transcribing answering machine messages as needed and routing calls to unit or other staff as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
  • Requires two (2) years of office experience.
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately 45 wpm.

 

Work Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm Monday-Friday; 1-hour unpaid lunch break
