Position Overview

The Bureau of Environmental Programs is seeking an employee to fulfill the role of Office Associate by bringing positive energy to the workplace, providing secretarial and general office support and becoming an active member of our team.  The ideal candidate will be highly organized and be able complete a variety of clerical duties while working in a regulatory-based program.  We welcome interested applicants to apply for this position to work inside this family-like environment.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Performs a variety of complex, specialized clerical assistance for the Bureau of Environmental Programs, Livestock Facility Regulation Program.
  2. Gathers, proofs, edits, and organizes materials for the bureau's Livestock program.
  3. Prepares and verifies forms and fees related to the livestock program, applications for licenses or permits. 
  4. Follows oral and written instructions gaining experience and knowledge in and applying evolving automated office equipment and technology to complex tasks.
  5. Serves as bureau property control coordinator.
  6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two years of office experience.
  2. Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 45 wpm.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Requires extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures and programs.
  2. Requires extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, procedures, spelling and punctuation.
  3. Requires working knowledge of of basic mathematics. 
  4. Requires elementary knowledge of agency programs, rules and regulations.
  5. Requires ability to follow oral or written instructions.
  6. Requires ability to operate commonly used manual and automated office equipment and perform routine maintenance.
