Position Overview
Under direct supervision, performs a variety of clerical duties, exercise initiative and judgment, and follow written and oral instructions in the performance of duties. The position requires knowledge of alpha-numeric sequencing, grammar, spelling, punctuation, office practices and general clerical skills, including using a computer.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for filing, maintaining, and purging files for public and non public school facilities related materials, abatement notifications, variances, on-site inspections, project manager reports, inspection reports, management plans, three year inspections, warnings, violations, asbestos license files, swimming pools, bathing beaches, manufactured homes, manufactured home installers, manufactured home communities, migrant labor camps, youth camps, and recreation areas license files accurately and expediently.
- Operate the division switchboard, answering non-technical questions and directing calls to appropriate staff.
- Assist with preparing licenses, mailings, copying, and data entry of license files and inspections.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
- Requires the ability to type accurately at 30 words per minute.
- Requires elementary knowledge of office practices and procedures.
- Requires elementary knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Requires ability to follow written and oral instructions in the performance of duties.
- Requires working knowledge of alpha-numeric sequencing.
- Prefers ability to exercise initiative and judgment.
- Prefers excellent computer skills and work experience in Microsoft software products including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
Work Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm Monday-Friday
