Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated individual to perform paraprofessional support functions that are coordinative in nature.

Job Responsibilities

  1. In accordance with agency rules and regulations, performs paraprofessional support functions that are coordinative in nature.

  2. Processes documents for Compliance Assurance Division.

  3. Performs data entry and checks for accuracy of data on LTC/SMHRF documents.

  4. Composes, keyboards correspondence and completes mailings for Compliance Assurance.

  5. Serves as a relief receptionist.

  6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college or completion of high school and two years related office experience or two years of independent business experience.
  • Requires the ability to type accurately at a 30 wpm rate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures and programs.
  • Extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Working knowledge of the logic of computer programs/language and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to follow oral or written instructions.
  • Ability to operate commonly used manual and automated office equipment, as well as a personal computer, and perform routine maintenance.

Work Hours:  Monday - Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm
