Position Overview
Under general direction, performs complex, specialized and technical functions for Division of Environmental Health licensure programs. Explains rules, regulations and procedures regarding licensure processes and assists with problem solving and providing solutions to improve complex licensure processes. Processes license applications and assists staff with problem solving technical and process licensure issues. Assists in the maintenance and updates of Division Web-based applications, licensing databases, and Internet resources provided to program clients.
Job Responsibilities
- As a paraprofessional, monitors licensure programs and services provided to licensees.
- Works as a licensure computer system coordinator between licensees and program staff.
- Prepares letters, correspondence or legal dockets when deficiencies are found.
- Develops complex and multi-program (database, spreadsheet and word processing) record reports for responses to Freedom of Information requests, legal fines, daily fees and monthly performance results.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college and one year of office experience or completion of high school and three years of office experience or three years of independent business experience.
- Requires the ability to type accurately at 30 words per minute.
- Requires extensive knowledge of the logic of computer language/programs.
- Requires knowledge of office practices and procedures.
- Requires extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Requires the ability to instruct, guide and train others.
- Requires ability to establish and develop written instructions and procedures.
- Prefers excellent computer skills and work experience in Microsoft Office software products including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, etc.
