Job Responsibilities

Under direction, independently conducts and processes confidential written background check requests to provide determination of abuse/neglect; performs SACWIS/CYCIS background checks, obtaining pertinent information to process confidential checks of prior child abuse and neglect involvement; answers phones on the Child Abuse Hotline, directing calls, taking, and relaying messages; serves as back-up for answering phone calls to the State Central Register; responds to requests from staff involving the Soundexing of names to determine whether the requested names are in the SACWIS/CYCIS system; reviews various SCR documents and forms containing complex, confidential information; exercises independent judgment and a command of legal, social, and medical terminology to proof documents for use of terms and accuracy of information; processes requests for case consolidation/deletion and CPD logs, analyzing complex problematic situation; establishes, organizes, and maintains filing systems

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two years of office experience; requires working knowledge of legal, social, and medical terminology; requires ability to keyboard accurately at 45 wpm; requires ability to work mandatory overtime.
