Essential Functions
- Under the direction of the Chief of Staff, develops and implements policies and procedures to assure the efficient management of the Bureau of Support Services, including fleet management, telecommunications, property control, mail room, print shop, guest services, and records management.
- Serves as full-line supervisor.
- Plans, organizes, and implements direction for various additional responsibilities of Support Services.
- Provides budget/fiscal preparation and planning for the operation and maintenance of all areas within Support Services.
- Maintains liaison with members of the other agencies and organizations relative to interagency and public problems.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to 4 years of college with courses in management or public administration.
- Requires three years of administrative or supervisory experience or equivalent of experience in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers extensive knowledge of agency programs and service objectives, activities and operational systems.
- Prefers 1 or more years of professional experience supervising staff, including training and completing performance evaluations.
- Prefers experience planning and assigning staff to maintain effective unit operations.
- Prefers experience developing, implementing and monitoring a supportive agency program policy and procedures.
- Prefers experience analyzing administrative problems and adopting an effective course of action.
- Prefers experience estimating and budgeting for an organization’s cost of personnel and assets.
- Prefers experience interpreting and managing agency compliance with the Illinois State Records Act.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires a valid driver’s license.
- Requires the ability to travel in performance of duties. Occasional overnight travel is required.
- Requires the ability to successfully pass a background check.
