Job Responsibilities

Under general direction, manages multiple complex and advisory service management functions; evaluates customer service requests to verify technical requirements/readiness, coordinates service request pre-defined work management tasking and distributes to personal support operations units. Provides guidance and direction to the PC Operations Managers through the development and maintenance of the master personal computer hardware installation schedule. Engages in the development, socialization and implementation of policy, processes and guidelines for managing the customer desktop computer and peripherals. Serves as logistical liaison for technical operations projects and travels off- site in performance of duties.

  • Manages multiple complex and advisory service management functions; evaluates customer service requests to verify technical requirements/readiness, coordinates service request pre-defined work management tasking and distributes to personal support operations units, monitors master personal computer hardware installation schedule content, monitors personal computing equipment availability and coordinates release/transport to imaging and deployment sites.
  • Provides guidance and direction to the PC Operations Managers through the development and maintenance of the master personal computer hardware installation schedule utilizing Microsoft Excel and SharePoint; performs technical advisement, procedure documentation, and instruction/training on the use of SharePoint Deployment Schedule and
    Service Management Reports ranging from routine daily interface to advanced reporting, assesses Schedule utilization to ensure compliance with operational and technical standards, monitors service management system to identify qualified request records, loads qualified service request records into installation schedule, monitors installation schedule progress indicators, deletes completed service request records, and integrates service management system records and installation schedule content to generate service delivery performance reports and analysis.
  • Serves as logistical liaison and coordinator for large deployment projects; facilitates requirements gathering and issue management with stakeholders (customer, vendor, management, technician), provides direction on alternative technical options to promote more cost effective, timely and efficient implementation, formulates action/project plans, deployment schedules and coordinates required resource, composes various related administrative/technical correspondence and presentations including progress reports and escalations to appropriate work unit/section leads, and provides technical and operational recommendation toward improved practices and methodologies.
  • Engages in the development, socialization and implementation of policy, processes and guidelines for managing the customer desktop computer and peripherals utilizing Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, SharePoint, and Knowledge Management solutions; facilitates in-depth studies involving extensive technical research, development and testing with stakeholders (customer, vendor, management, technician), composes and coordinates formal review of related materials to ensure compliance with organization standards, and plans and executes training exercises/events to ensure appropriate and uniform socialization of technical and operational information.
  • Organizes, plans, and controls the availability of personal computing equipment in coordination with customer Agency demand, personal computing operations readiness, and contract availability
  • Attends training courses, seminars/conferences and meetings to keep abreast of new advancements in the Information Technology field to increase familiarity with and maintain current on IT processes, products, systems, and vendors to understand the latest practices and technologies; travels when held offsite.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in computer science. Requires prior experience equivalent to three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in Information Technology or related field. Requires ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships. Requires ability to exercise judgment and discretion in developing, installing and evaluating new and revised methods, procedures, and performance standards. Requires developed oral and written communication skills to present technical/training information to others with clarity and precision. Requires ability to analyze administrative problems and adopt an effective course of action. Requires the ability to estimate and budget for future needs and cost of equipment, supplies, and services. Requires a valid driver's license and the ability to travel statewide. Requires the ability to utilize
agency supplied material/equipment {i.e., cellphone, laptop, etc.).
Specialized Skills: Requires fundamental knowledge of personal computer installation, maintenance, and repair workflows. Requires three years of professional experience in the following: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Service Management Reports, project management, service management, quality assurance, coordination, and consultative techniques and processes.


Requires the ability to successfully complete a nationwide background check, which includes fingerprints and photograph, as defined by IRS Pub 1075.
