Position Overview

Provide peer-led self-advocate presentations alongside staff in the Vocational Rehabilitation Program to individuals receiving sub-minimum wage to provide employment-related services and support.

Job Responsibilities

  1.  Participate in planning and training sessions with staff in the Division of Rehabilitation Services on Career Counseling & Information and Referral Services in preparation for statewide training to be conducted with providers who offer employment at a sub-minimum wage (known as 14(c) entities).
  2. Co-present information alongside staff in the Vocational Rehabilitation program to groups of individuals receiving a sub-minimum wage throughout the Region.
  3. Articulate personal experiences, including services and supports, that provided assistance to prepare for, obtain, maintain, advance in, or regain competitive integrated employment, including supported or customized employment. 

Minimum Qualifications

  1. A successful applicant must have been a former participant of services in a sub-minimum wage (known as 14-(c) entity) organization, and have gained competitive integrated employment.

Conditions of Employment

  1. Be an effective oral communicator, present information, and ability to present personal experiences regarding competitive integrated employment.
