Essential Functions

  • Under general direction, serves as a Processing Software Developer I for the Department of Innovation & Technology/Department of Revenue (DoIT/REV), performing difficult and specialized professional work in Applications Services in the Correspondence & Processing Unit of Data Gateway/GenTax
  • Confers with users to determine needed changes and enhancements by conducting comprehensive studies and analyses of client needs and objectives
  • Serves as a project coordinator for standard projects including small/medium size hardware/software deployments and installations
  • Assists higher level analysts with scheduled and remedial maintenance to application services
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology (IT) field by continuing education through attending meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on IT products, vendors, techniques and procedures
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in Applications Services or a related Information Technology field.  

Specialized Skills

  • Requires one (1) year of professional application development experience in Microsoft SQL, SQL coding and VB.Net.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience working with the correspondence and processing portions of the GenTax Integrated Tax System, or similar system.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in manipulating and formatting various electronic files and data formats.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of professional application development experience in Microsoft SQL, SQL coding and VB.Net.
  • One (1) year of professional experience working with the correspondence and processing portions of the GenTax Integrated Tax System, or similar system.
  • One (1) year of professional experience in manipulating and formatting various electronic files and data formats.
  • One (1) year of professional experience working in a large IT organizational structure.
  • One (1) year of professional experience documenting processes and procedures.
  • One (1) year of professional experience in procedures and techniques of conducting feasibility studies for system conversions and enhancements.
  • One (1) year of professional experience leading and coordinating projects.
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose system issues and coordinate efforts to resolve. 
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with others.
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills to present information to others with clarity and precision.
