Essential Functions
- Under direct supervision, serves as a print shop technician.
- Collaborates with the higher-level technicians to prepare mailings, number forms, tickets, etc.
- Assists with receiving and unloading of print shop supplies.
- Acts as a backup for the IDOA mail room, if necessary.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school.
- Requires one year of experience in the print reproduction trade.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers working knowledge of offset press, bindery and/or darkroom equipment principles, operations and maintenance and repair procedures.
- Prefers working knowledge of paper stocks and weights, ink types and chemicals used in offset print operations.
- Prefers working knowledge of printing chemicals and their use.
- Prefers working knowledge of shop safety procedures.
- Prefers working experience with following oral and written instructions.
- Prefers working experience with recognizing and correcting complete operation errors and printing machine malfunctions.
Conditions of Employment

- Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime. This requires the ability to work evenings and weekends.
- This position is considered medium work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(c)). Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
