Job Responsibilities

Under general direction, performs average complexity programming and analytical functions required to design, develop, test, implement, and perform problem solving maintenance on applications systems applicable to the Enterprise Development Team scope of applications and environments which reside on Departmental servers on public-facing browser-based websites and web applications as well as applications and websites built for mobile devices; conducts problem solving, maintenance, testing, and implementation of application systems, using Microsoft Visual Studio and any of the supported languages:  ASP.Net, C#, or VB.Net, SharePoint, SQL, SQL Server, Xamarin and other associated products. Travels to attend meetings and training.

  • Designs, develops tests, and implements average complexity application software on internal and public-facing browser-based websites and web applications, as well as other related systems and platforms supported by the development team, while providing input into the analysis, design, and development of interfaces and the transition of these functions between multiple systems and architectures; provides initial feedback and level of effort estimates for management to support planning and scheduling of work related to service and maintenance requests related to Enterprise Development systems and applications.
  • Performs analysis, evaluation, problem solving, maintenance, testing, and implementation of trouble tickets and engineering service requests as assigned, including time reporting against related tasks, status updates, notes on tickets or issues, and feedback on pending and outstanding tasks related to maintenance and support tasks; utilizes Microsoft Visual Studio and any of the supported languages ASP.Net, C# or VB.Net, SharePoint, SQL, SQL Server, and other associated products in the performance of duties.
  • Prepares technical documentation in support of programming and analysis functions, including, but not limited to job run instructions, database call patterns, data entry manuals, system documentation, user manuals, program specifications, and test plans; prepares informational documentation and correspondence, including, but not limited to response memos and project status reports; prepares and conducts oral presentations.   
  • Attends advanced continuing training for development and data processing from internal Department staff and external training classes and seminars; provides input into the planning and execution of technical training programs and seminars on appropriate areas related to application development; travels when held off-site.
  • Attends meetings and creates meeting notes and status reports; travels when held off-site.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires physical, visual, and auditory ability to carry out assigned duties

Education Major

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four years of college with coursework in computer science or directly related fields, supplemented by one year of experience in an Information Technology field; requires effective verbal and written communication skills. Requires the ability to acquire a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Certificate in either Web Applications or Universal Windows Platform. Requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel.

Specialized Skills:  Requires one year of professional experience as outlined above for the following:   Programming capabilities, database application development, and knowledge using Microsoft Visual Studio and any of the supported languages – ASP.Net, VB or C#.Net, SQL, and SQL Server and SQL Reporting Services.
