Position Overview
The IDPH is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve Under the direction of the Dementia Coordinator. This position provides functional administration and program support for the dementia program and other aging related efforts within the Illinois Department of Public Health’s Office of Health Promotion, Division of Chronic Disease.

Essential Functions
- Supports the dementia coordinator with grant administration of all dementia and healthy aging related programs.
- Oversees and communicates regularly with all dementia and healthy aging program grantees.
- Consults with and assists the dementia coordinator in identifying and developing activities that align with the Alzheimer's Disease State Plan and reduce public health disparities for people living with dementia and their caregivers.
- Develops, prepares, and maintains documents, spreadsheets, and other reports for monitoring the coordination of quality statewide dementia efforts and trainings.
- Engages in other healthy aging and older adult related efforts.
- Assists with the organization of the Alzheimer’s Disease Advisory Committee activities, including but not limited to scheduling meetings, planning & posting agendas, recording & posting minutes, processing board member paperwork, administering and tracking training for board members.
- Analyzes proposed legislative changes or new legislation that impacts dementia or older adults.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college.
- Requires two (2) years of professional experience in community organization, social service work, or in program planning and development.
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year of experience with grant administration and budgeting.
- Two (2) years of experience in public health or social services program development, delivery, or linkage.
- Two (2) years of experience within the last five years of using Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Pro, and other basic data processing software.
- One (1) year experience with organizing, facilitating, and documenting meetings.
- One (1) year experience developing and maintaining working relationships and collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
