Position Overview

Subject to management approval, serves as the Violence Prevention Program Performance Analyst to design, implement and oversee the Bureau of Violence Prevention Services program evaluation and data collection efforts. Performs program analysis, prepares reporting, and provides recommendations for the Bureau related to violence prevention efforts. Works in collaboration with the Office of Firearm Violence Prevention to produce legislatively required reports regarding firearm violence. Travels in the performance of duties.

Job Responsibilities

1. Designs, implements, and oversees the Bureau of Violence Prevention Services program evaluation efforts.

 

2. Designs, implements, and oversees the Bureau of Violence Prevention Services program data collection efforts.

 

3. Prepares reports based on data collection, performance measures and program impact for the Bureau Chief. Provides recommendations for the Bureau related to violence prevention programming efforts. Organizes and synthesizes program evaluations into high quality, well-structured, oral, and written communications.

 

4. Serves as a liaison between the Office of Community and Positive Youth Development, the Office of Firearm Violence Prevention, and the RPSA Evaluation and Technical Assistance Provider, providing information on the performance of the Bureau’s violence prevention programs.

 

5. Travels to community-based organizations to provide training and technical assistance related to data collection and program evaluation.

 

6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of master's degree.
  2. Requires two years of progressively responsible professional experience in community organization, social service work or in program planning and development.

 

SPECIALIZED SKILLS: Of the two years required experience, requires two years in program evaluation and/or data analytics interpreting results, demonstrating critical thinking skills, and creating written and oral presentations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Requires the ability to exercise sound judgment in the analysis, appraisal and evaluation of existing and proposed violence prevention programs.
  • Requires the ability to conduct research and interpret and apply research findings.
  • Requires the ability to produce high quality, well-structured, oral, and written communications.
  • Requires ability to develop and maintain support and good functional working relationships.
  • Requires ability to exercise discretion and judgment in making professional decisions.
  • Requires ability to apply and interpret agency policies and procedures.
