Position Overview

The Illinois Department on Aging is seeking to hire a motivated self-starter with a background in older American care and grant experience. The ideal candidate is a quick learner that can understand instruction in both written and oral forms. Integral to the position is the ability to work as a member of team in the performance of their duties. All interested candidates are invited to apply. Job Responsibilities

1. Assists with complex technical on-site and desk reviews of current or prospective Community Care Program (CCP) Providers.

2. Reviews and evaluates corrective action data taken by the department funded agencies to rectify non-compliance issues as noted in reports from providers or other units of the department.

3. Assists with data collection activities per Department requirements.

4. Participates in planning meetings and other sponsored field activities and conferences pertaining to CCP programs and services with program and fiscal staff, service providers, and other partners within the Aging network.

5. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Requires a bachelor’s degree in anthropology, psychology, sociology, social welfare, or equivalent educational attainment in a related field of social sciences.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Prefers one year of experience facilitating inter-business communication and fostering effective collaboration.
2. Prefers one year of administrative experience working in a long-term care or similar facility.
3. Prefers working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
4. Prefers working knowledge of grant administration utilizing industry-standard grant administration software.

Conditions of Employment

1. Requires ability to travel extensively.

2. Requires ability to pass a criminal background check.
