Special Projects Coordinator for Operations 

The Office of Illinois Governor, JB Pritzker is seeking a Special Projects Coordinator for Operations to join the office.  

Working closely with the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Human Resources team and the Fiscal team, completes various assignments and projects throughout the year. The Special Projects Coordinator reports directly to the Deputy Chief of Staff of Operations. This role is heavily focused on the larger, reoccurring projects in the office while also managing daily administrative functions. 

 

The ideal candidate will: 

  • Possess 3-5 years of project management experience in a government space 

  • Have proven examples of adding operational efficiencies in past roles 

  • Is a highly organized individual and is able to manage several large-scale projects at a time 

Essential Job Functions 

  • Collaborates with fiscal and human resources teams to develop strategic plans for the office. 

  • Coordinates several special projects and ensures timely completion. 

  • Plans and executes all aspects of State Fair logistics including tent operations, scheduling, agency coordination, and collaboration with Fair leadership teams.  

  • Works with HR team to coordinate and plan events for the State of Illinois' James R. Dunn Fellowship program and Curry Internship.  

  • Continuous oversight on all Governor’s Office websites. 

  • Manages emergency action plans, inventory, and asset management processes. 

  • Assists the Operations team with the bi-annual audit. 

  • Manages office motor pool fleet, technology, and furniture inventory. 

  • Cultivates a positive work environment and cross-agency communication. Provides guidance to office employees on Operations matters. 

*Occasional travel as well as night and weekend work will be required.
