Position Overview-Classroom Administrator
- The Department of Military Affairs is looking to hire a Classroom Administrator for State Distance Learning Program located in Springfield at Camp Lincoln. This position under general direction The Distance Learning Program helps shape the technological landscape to best assist Soldiers accessing online learning resources. The Department of Military Affairs works with the members of the Illinois Air and Army National Guard. We welcome all interested applicants to apply.
Essential Function
- Monitor the Army National Guard Distance Learning Classroom (ARNG DLC) at assigned site, and ensures compliance with all technical, cybersecurtiy, and information assurance requirements published by the ARNG G-6 and the State G-6/J-6.
- Performs troubleshooting on equipment, acting Tier 1 IT Support.
- Input usage into Distributed Learning Reporting and Scheduling Tool.
- Prepare classroom for scheduled events.
- Assists the ARNG G-6 Fielding Office, and State G-6/J-6 in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing technical issues with the ARNG DLCs in the State.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonable within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers remote Troubleshooting experience.
- Prefers experience with configuring computer software and installing/troubleshooting hardware.
- Prefers experience with troubleshooting computers and audio/visual equipment.
- Prefers working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and software such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Prefers customer service experience.
Employment Condition
- Requires the ability to pass a DoD background investigation and obtain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC) prior to hire or transfer.
- Requires travelling to other state facilities using state owned vehicle. Requires a valid driver's license in the appropriate classification as required by law.
- Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a COMTIA Security+ certification within 6 months of beginning of employment.
- This position is considered medium work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(c)). Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or 1 carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Work Hours: 8am - 4pm. Can vary based on mission requirements.
