Essential Functions
- Under general direction, serves as a Solution Architect for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), creating detailed architectural designs and technical solutions that align with agency objectives and technical requirements while ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
- Identifies potential risks and challenges related to architectural solutions and develops strategies to mitigate while ensuring that architectural solutions comply with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and security standards.
- Serves as a project manager, overseeing and determining validity of solutions and overall viability of project initiatives and coordinates project requests and provides associated Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates that may or may not include Software as a Service (SAAS) solutions.
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures:
- Performs all other duties as required or assigned that are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college with coursework in management information systems, data processing, telecommunications, or a directly related Information Technology related field.
- Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in management information systems, data processing, or telecommunications in a public or business organization.
Specialized Skills
- Requires three (3) years of professional experience as a Solution Architect utilizing and advising on enterprise platforms such as SAP, Azure, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Dynamics, Snowflake, Databricks and Microsoft Power Apps, including aligning platform capabilities with business and technical requirements.
- Requires three (3) years of professional experience managing and coordinating project requests, including scoping, analyzing requirements, and developing Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates for technical solutions, including Software as a Service (SAAS) models.
- Requires three (3) years of professional experience serving as an enterprise, data, cloud, security, or AI architect, delivering scalable, secure, and standards-compliant solutions that align with enterprise architecture frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications (In Order of Significance)
- Three (3) years of professional experience as a Solution Architect utilizing and advising on enterprise platforms such as SAP, Azure, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Dynamics, Snowflake, Databricks and Microsoft Power Apps, including aligning platform capabilities with business and technical requirements.
- Three (3) years of professional experience managing and coordinating project requests, including scoping, analyzing requirements, and developing Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates for technical solutions, including Software as a Service (SAAS) models.
- Three (3) years of professional experience serving as an enterprise, data, cloud, security, or AI architect, delivering scalable, secure, and standards-compliant solutions that align with enterprise architecture frameworks.
- Three (3) years of professional experience designing and implementing strategies for data management, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise applications incorporating interoperability, risk mitigation, and scalability considerations.
- Three (3) years of professional experience in business architecture practices, including , capability mapping, process mapping, and process mining, using enterprise architecture tools and techniques to inform solution design.
- Three (3) years of professional experience identifying architectural risks and compliance issues and developing mitigation strategies in alignment with regulatory, cybersecurity, and organizational policies.
- Ability to analyze complex data and technical challenges, apply logical reasoning, and make sound architectural decisions in support of business objectives.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including technical teams, business users, vendors, and platform owners, to translate requirements into effective, executable technical designs.
- Demonstrated leadership and coordination skills, including the ability to align multidisciplinary teams toward common solution goals and oversee adherence to architecture and development standards.
- Developed verbal and written communication skills to present technical concepts clearly and persuasively to a wide range of audiences, including executive stakeholders and technical teams.
