Position overview:
The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division, Bureau or Section of Claims Processing is seeking to hire a motived candidate to serve as an Executive II assigned to the Bureau of Claims Processing. Under the direction of the Error Resolution Section Manager, this position plans and manages the adjudication of medical claims submitted for processing in the State's Medical Assistance Program.

Essential Functions
- Under general direction, serves as the Special Program Review/Online Unit Supervisor by organizing, planning, executing, controlling, evaluating, and managing the adjudication of medical claims submitted for processing in the State's Medical Assistance Program
- Serves as a working supervisor
- Plans, assigns, directs and reviews the activities of the On-Line, Medicare and Special Program Review Units
- Confers with Administration, Bureau of Technical Support, Department of Innovation and Technology (DolT), Internal and External Auditors, and staff on the integration of program activities
- Establishes and updates quality control activities in conjunction with the Bureau of Technical Support and/or DolT to guarantee effectiveness of workflow procedures
- Assists in the development and implementation of Agency policy, operating and/or processing changes and/or procedures for new and revised data processing systems for enhanced On-Line and Medicare Crossover Claims Processing Systems
- Plans, organizes and conducts meetings for the development, design and implementation of Agency changes related to the Medical Assistance Program
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration
- Requires two (2) years of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization
Specialized Skills
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience utilizing a system such as the Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) general inquiry database to review medical claims for payment
- Minimum of one (1) of year of experience with MMIS logic interpretation
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience utilizing a Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) general inquiry database to review medical claims for payment
- Minimum of one (1) of year of experience with MMIS logic interpretation
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working for a public or private organization overseeing a medical assistance program
- Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience reviewing medical claims for payment
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience developing and managing a supportive program for a public or private organization
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience developing and implementing policies and procedures for a public or private organization
Conditions of Employment

- Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop
