About the position:

The Student Success Specialist provides critical support to IBHE’s student success initiatives by coordinating student-focused programs, grants, and partnerships; assists in grant administration and support of other student success, basic needs, and mental health initiatives.

This is a covered position under the State Universities Civil Service System.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages assigned student-focused programs, grants and partnerships:
    • Assists with applicable grant administration and reporting
    • Coordinates student success convenings and events
    • Tracks program participation and institutional engagement
    • Provides project management and communication support for student services initiatives
    • Prepares data summaries and reports
    • Supports Communities of Practice, conferences, and other trainings
    • Coordinates communication to institutional stakeholders as directed
  • Other duties as assigned, within scope of position

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • 1+ year of experience working with student-focused programs

 

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of student programs, organizations, and relevant resources
  • Ability to establish a communicative role between institutions and students
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and peers

 

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with grant administration and reporting
  • Experience with project management
  • Experience with summarizing and reporting on data

Organizational Relationship

Position reports to the Director of Student Success Strategy.

There are no direct reports to this position.

*IBHE is based in Springfield, IL, however, a hybrid work schedule may be available. Illinois residency is required.
Travel within Illinois is expected, as required by the work.
