About the position:
The Student Success Specialist provides critical support to IBHE’s student success initiatives by coordinating student-focused programs, grants, and partnerships; assists in grant administration and support of other student success, basic needs, and mental health initiatives.
This is a covered position under the State Universities Civil Service System.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages assigned student-focused programs, grants and partnerships:
- Assists with applicable grant administration and reporting
- Coordinates student success convenings and events
- Tracks program participation and institutional engagement
- Provides project management and communication support for student services initiatives
- Prepares data summaries and reports
- Supports Communities of Practice, conferences, and other trainings
- Coordinates communication to institutional stakeholders as directed
- Other duties as assigned, within scope of position
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- 1+ year of experience working with student-focused programs
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of student programs, organizations, and relevant resources
- Ability to establish a communicative role between institutions and students
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and peers
Preferred skills:
- Experience with grant administration and reporting
- Experience with project management
- Experience with summarizing and reporting on data
Organizational Relationship
Position reports to the Director of Student Success Strategy.
There are no direct reports to this position.
Work Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm Mon-Fri
Work Location: 1 N Old State Capitol Plz Springfield, IL 62701-1323*
*IBHE is based in Springfield, IL, however, a hybrid work schedule may be available. Illinois residency is required.
Travel within Illinois is expected, as required by the work.
