Position Overview
Under general direction of the Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Section Chief, carries out administrative responsibilities and provides administrative support. Oversees administrative procedures relative to contracts, vouchers, personnel transactions, disease reporting from healthcare providers and laboratories; distribution of STI antibiotics, educational materials and supplies; preparation and submission of federal grant applications; monitors expenditures and budget documents. Serves as working supervisor.

Essential Functions
- Oversees all procedures related to administering and tracking federal and general revenue STI funds, grants and contractors.
- Provides support to the Section Chief and Assistant Section Chief.
- Serves as working supervisor.
- Serves as the STI Section representative on planning committees related to the HIV/STI Conference and various other trainings provided by the Program.
- Coordinates the distribution of medications, technical information and educational training materials to local health departments and other medical providers.
- Distributes STI lab results to local health department surveillance units to ensure treatment and timely reporting of cases into electronic disease and case reporting systems.
- Functions as Section timekeeper.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration.
- Requires one (1) year of professional experience in a public or private organization, or completion of an agency approved professional training program.
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year experience planning and organizing statewide conferences and training programs.
- One (1) year experience working with and collecting confidential information.
- One (1) year experience using Microsoft Office, including Word, Access and Excel or other word processing and data management systems.
- One (1) year experience using planning software.
- One (1) year experience communicating, both written and verbal, with health care professionals.
