Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Title IV-E and Medicaid Supervisor.  Under administrative direction, this position will manage and direct the operations of the Department’s Title IV-E and Medicaid programs on a statewide basis.  The position will direct, coordinate, and provide oversight to subordinate supervisors regarding the activities of staff responsible for the determination of eligibility for Title IV-E, Medicaid, TANF-Emergency Assistance, Long Term Care, and COBRA.  This position provides a great opportunity for a motivated individual who is interested in playing a role in ensuring the appropriate application of federal benefit programs in the course of the Department’s operations.  DCFS offers a competitive compensation plan, excellent benefits, and a pension program.  The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent organizational skills and strong leadership skills.  We invite you to join our innovative team to help make a positive difference in the lives of the children and families of Illinois.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as Title IV-E and Medicaid Supervisor
  • Serves as Full line supervisor
  • Reviews, monitors, and oversees the Agency’s Title IV-E, Medicaid, and TANF-Emergency Assistance eligibility determination quality assurance program
  • Provides oversight of the unit's attainment and utilization of Social Security Administration benefits information
  • Coordinates and conducts a variety of special projects
  •  Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  •  Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with coursework in business or public administration
  • Requires three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization, including professional experience in the determination and monitoring of eligibility or compliance with Title IV-E, Medicaid, or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years of professional management experience in the area of Medicaid, Title IV-E, or TANF eligibility determination in a public or business organization
  • 3 years of professional experience conducting or providing oversight to auditing or compliance and quality review functions in a public or business organization
  • 3 years of experience supervising professional staff in a public or business organization
  • 3 years of professional experience managing or conducting special projects in a public or business organization
  • 3 years of professional experience serving in a liaison capacity for a public or business organization
