Essential Functions

  • Under administrative direction, serves as a Tax Data Warehouse Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR)
  • Serves as a mentor and subject matter expert (SME) to GenTax Data Warehouse and Research team members
  • Serves as a project technical lead for a full-range major/complex projects including large hardware/software deployments and installation
  • Serves as the primary support for scheduled and remedial maintenance to the assigned applications
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology field
  • Analyzes and recommends new procedures and techniques to improve the supported application systems
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields. 
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience in Application Services or in a related Information Technology field.
     

Specialized Skills

  • Requires three (3) years of professional application development experience with object-oriented development within GenTax Integrated Tax System and GenTax Tools.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience developing code with Microsoft SQL, VB.NET, application programming, database management systems, and business process analysis/systems/analysis and design.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience with electronic transfer utilities and handling of Federal Tax Information.  
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of professional application development experience with object-oriented development within GenTax Integrated Tax System and GenTax Tools.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience developing code with Microsoft SQL, VB.NET, application programming, database management systems, and business process analysis/systems/analysis and design.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience with electronic transfer utilities and handling of Federal Tax Information.  
  • Working knowledge of the various parts of the functions contained in the Audit, Collections, Interfaces and Discovery portions of the GenTax System.
  • Ability to coordinate work activities to achieve desired results.
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.  
  • Extensive knowledge in development of Object-Oriented Application Design methodology.
