Position Overview:
The Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) invites well qualified candidates to apply for the position of Vehicle Coordinator & Property Control Manager. This position is responsible for acting as a first-level approver of transactions submitted in the Fiscal section; serving as the Board’s Vehicle Coordinator and Property Control Manager; and providing professional, high-level assistance to the Chief Fiscal Officer throughout the Board’s budgeting and auditing processes. The ideal candidate for this position will have practical experience in governmental accounting, using SAP-based accounting systems, and experience with property control or inventory management, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be highly organized, be able to maintain and develop positive, cooperative working relationships, and be capable of multi-tasking to keep up with the demands of a busy and growing agency. ILETSB is conveniently located at the southern edge of downtown Springfield in a beautifully maintained building across from the Lincoln’s Home National Historic Site with free secured parking on-site.

Essential Functions
- Serves as first level approver of transactions submitted in the Fiscal Section.
- Serves as the Board’s Vehicle Coordinator.
- Provides professional, high-level assistance to CFO throughout the Board’s budgeting and auditing processes.
- Serves as the Board’s Property Control Manager.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonable within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
- Requires two (2) years of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers two (2) years or more of practical experience using a Systems Applications and Products (SAP)-based accounting system.
- Prefers two (2) years or more of practical experience working with the principles of governmental accounting and statistics.
- Prefers two (2) years or more of practical experience in property control and/or inventory for a public or private organization.
Conditions of Employment
- Overtime is a condition of employment, and employee may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime. This requires the ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel & Internet applications.
- Requires ability to travel to attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry-related topics relevant to job duties.
- This position is considered medium work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(c)). Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. This job may require a good deal of walking or standing and involves sitting for long periods of time.
- Requires self-disclosure of criminal history and the ability to pass a criminal background and work history check.
- Certain provisions of the revolving door restrictions contained in 5 ILCS 430/5-45 apply to this position. As a result, the employee should be aware that if offered non-State employment during state employment or within one year immediately after ending State employment, the employee shall, prior to accepting any such non-State employment offer, notify the Office of the Executive Inspector General for the Agencies of the Illinois Governor (OEIG) or may be subject to a fine.
- This position has been found to meet the requirements in section 4A-101 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act requiring the occupant/employee to file a Statement of Economic Interest. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (5 ILCS 420/4A et seq.) requires certain state officials and employees to file annual Statements of Economic Interest with the Office of the Secretary of State that will be made available for examination and copying by the public. All employees required to file a Statement of Economic Interest are also required to file the Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest with the Executive Ethics Commission. (See Executive Order 15-09) Fines and penalties apply to untimely filings.
