Position Overview

This position serves as a Virtual Digital Infrastructure Analyst in the Midrange Wintel/System Software Services Unit researching, implementing, installing, configuring and testing software and operating systems including Microsoft Windows Servers and Active Directory environment, using Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. In this role you will provide technical assistance to clients and technicians pertaining to software and operating systems using Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. In addition, you will participate as a team member and serve as project coordinator for standard projects including small/medium size software installations and deployments. Essential Functions

  • Under general direction, serves as a Virtual Digital Infrastructure Analyst performing difficult and specialized professional work in the Midrange Wintel/System Software Services Unit for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT).
  • Provides technical assistance to clients and technicians pertaining to software and operating systems using Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (e.g. Citrix, Horizon, Azure).
  • Performs problem diagnostics of software and operating systems.
  • Participates as a team member and serves as project coordinator for standard projects including small/medium size software installations and deployments.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in System Services or a related Information Technology field.

Specialized Skills

  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in implementing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Virtual Desktop Infrastructure solutions such as Citrix, VMware, Horizon, and Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop to support enterprise environments ensuring optimal performance and user accessibility.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in managing Microsoft Windows Server environments including installation, configuration, and maintenance of Active Directory, Group Policy, and related security policies to ensure system integrity and compliance.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience implementing and maintaining security processes for Risk Management, Web Applications, Workflow Automation, and Data Management to ensure compliance, data integrity, and system security.
  • Requires one (1) year of experience in network communication concepts and principles including knowledge of server/client network configurations, routers, routing protocols, switches, firewalls, VPN and internet technologies to ensure secure and efficient connectivity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of professional experience in implementing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Virtual Desktop Infrastructure solutions such as Citrix, VMware, Horizon, and Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop to support enterprise environments ensuring optimal performance and user accessibility.
  • One (1) year of professional experience in managing Microsoft Windows Server environments including installation, configuration, and maintenance of Active Directory, Group Policy, and related security policies to ensure system integrity and compliance.
  • One (1) year of professional experience implementing and maintaining security processes for Risk Management, Web Applications, Workflow Automation, and Data Management to ensure compliance, data integrity, and system security.
  • One (1) year of experience in network communication concepts and principles including knowledge of server/client network configurations, routers, routing protocols, switches, firewalls, VPN and internet technologies to ensure secure and efficient connectivity.
  • One (1) year of professional experience researching, implementing, installing, configuring and testing software and operating systems to ensure optimal functionality, security, and performance in enterprise environments.
  • Working knowledge of Citrix Application Layers including its implementation, management, and optimization for efficient application delivery and virtualization.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft desk top packages with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize for user productivity and system efficiency.
  • Developed verbal and written communications skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills to effectively prioritize, manage, and coordinate multiple competing tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment ensuring efficiency and timely completion of projects.
  • Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, clients and others.
