Position Overview

Provide IBM Content Manager support, and assisting the DBA's with Db2 z/OS SQL tuning and daily tasks.

Job Responsibilities

1. Provides IBM Content Manager support, performing complex professional and advisory database administration functions. Performs analysis of existing Content Manager software and implementation of databases within the department.

2. Conducts and coordinates DB2 Z/OS SQL tuning and daily tasks. Maintains the IBM DB2 for z/OS relational database software for the department; monitors the day to day operation of the software. Conducts analysis of program applications, databases and system software in order to tune performance, maintains overall performance of the program applications. Confers with manager to verify activities are consistent with department priorities.

3. Reviews and analyzes functional system requirements and compares to end user needs/requests for modifications and feasibility studies. Performs joint application design sessions, develops written recommendations and prepares presentations for management. Writes, debugs, tests and documents new programs or updates existing programs using Relational Database Management Software. Evaluates test results to determine conformance to desired system objectives. Utilizes Relational Database Management Software to conduct database/system software implementation relative to the interface functions between applications and the database/system software..

4. Conducts analyses of data and processes support departmental activities and program; designs or implements data architecture using Erwin and implements with DB2 software. Maintains relational database model which fits the strategic goals of the business and department as related to integrated data architecture. Confers with manager to verity activities are consistent with department priorities.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Knowledge and skill equivalent to four (4) years of college with coursework in computer science. 

2. Five (5) or more years of demonstrated experience in IBM Content Manager.

3. Five (5) or more years of demonstrated experience working with z/OS DB2 databases and SQL Tuning.

4. Must have strong analytical skills and good communication skills both orally and in writing.
