Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is looking to hire Conservation/Historic Preservation Workers (CW's) to work at Jake Wolf Fish Hatchery. This temporary seasonal postion will not exceed six months. Under immediate supervision, the CW's will perform routine maintenance and janitorial duties of site buildings and maintain hatchery operations. Essential Functions
- Under immediate supervision, and on a temporary basis for a period not to exceed 6 months, assists full time staff in the propagation of all species being raised at Jake Wolf during tenure
- Under immediate supervision, assist in the maintenance of general equipment, such as mowers, weed whackers, chainswas and other minor equipment
- Assists with upkeep of the site grounds and hatchery
- Assists with the dissemination of information regarding Jake Wolf Fish Hatchery and agency programs rules, regulations, fisheries and aquatic resource management to the general public, interested individuals and organizations
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualification
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of eight years of elementary school

- Ability to travel in the performance of duties
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, climb stairs or ladders, stoop, bend, kneel and lift up to 60 lbs.

- Ability to work in a primitive environment or outdoors and withstand exposure to the elements on year-round basis
- Ability to walk over rough or broken terrain
