Position Description and Responsibilities
Under direction of the Office Administrator III, performs a variety of complex and difficult clerical and records processing functions; performs mathematical computations regarding inmate sentence time; types a variety of documents; performs general office support functions.
30% Performs complex sentence calculations including revocation and restoration of good conduct credits, (SCC) Supplemental Sentence Credits and other changes in sentence structure.
30% Keyboards correspondene including memoes, reports and documents including legal and specialized terminology applying understanding of terms to ensure clarity and accuracy.
20% Processes and verifies all writs of habeas corpus and escorted day release activities.
10% Maintains continuous offender count sheets for facility both on paper and through utilization of the Offender 360 system to monitor all inmate movement in or out of the Facility.
05% Maintains filing system to confirm offenders are reviewed for restoration of good conduct credits.
05% Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Requirements
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two years of office experience.
- Requires extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures and programs.
- Requires extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Requires working knowledge of basic mathematics.
- Requires elementary knowledge of agency programs, rules and regulations.
- Requires ability to follow oral or written instructions.
- Requires ability to operate commonly used manual and automated office equipment and perform routine maintenance.
- Requires ability to type accurately at 45 wpm.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to pass the Illinois Department of Corrections background check.
