Position Overview

This position serves as the ICF/IID/SMHRF (Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facilities) Section Chief. This position develops, interprets, plans, organizes and directs the formulation and implementation of Department policy, rules and regulations, for the Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) and Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facilities (SMHRF) Section. The position currently oversees multiple supervisory staff members.

Essential Functions

  • Plans, develops, organizes, control, and manages the ICF/IID AND SMHRF (Intermediate Care Facilities for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facilities) Section.
  • Serves as full-line supervisor.
  • Meets and discusses the ICF/IID AND SMHRF survey process with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Directs, coordinates, and revies the ICF/IID and SMHRF activities of the filed supervisors ensuring that policies and procedures are consistent across work units and are aligned with the directives of the Division Chief and the Assistant Division Chief.
  • Develops and implements policy and procedures for field operation.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college.
  • Requires prior experience equivalent to four years of progressively responsible administrative experience in Public Health related programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four or more years of progressively responsible administrative experience in related programs.
  • Four years experience developing, interpreting, and directing the formulation and implementation of program for the Intellectually disabled.
  • Four years experience in developing, interpreting, and directing the formulation and implementation of program policy, rules and procedures.
  • Three years work experience in word processing and spreadsheet applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SmartSheets).
  • Two years experience as a Supervisor.
  • Two years experience with business communication with other agencies.

Term Appointment:
Candidates hired into a term position shall be appointed for a term of 4 years and are subject to a probationary period. The term may be renewed for successive four-year terms at the Director of the Department of Public Health’s discretion.
